They are manufactured in a controlled laboratory environment by simulating the high pressure and temperature conditions required for the formation of natural diamonds, and therefore have the same physical, chemical and optical properties as natural diamonds. Despite their different origins (one inside the Earth, the other in a laboratory), lab-grown diamonds are considered real diamonds for gemological purposes and can be evaluated by the 4C criteria (carat weight, clarity, color, cut).
