We understand the variety of styles can be dazzling, but in fact, the styles of engagement rings on our website can be broadly categorized as Solitaire, Side Stone, Pave, Halo, Three-stone, and Unique Band

If you’re planning a surprise, it’s important to consider your partner’s outfit preferences, lifestyle, and personality to narrow down your choices. As a guide, consider what type of clothing and accessories your partner gravitates towards – this should give you some clues as to whether they prefer a classic, modern, natural, ornate ring, or a combination of these styles. Moissanite is the most popular gemstone on our site, and many people love the fire and iridescent sparkle it gives off. Besides that, sapphire can also be an ideal choice for center stone, this gemstone comes in almost every shade, from blue to teal, yellow, purple, pink, and even white. In addition, the rich green hue of the emerald is wonderful for those who love the elements of nature. What’s more, stones such as aqua agate, alexandrite variegated stone, opal, sunstone, and moonstone are options worth considering for those who seek uniqueness.

If the style you are leaning towards is not a solitaire ring, then do not forget to take the type of accent stone into consideration as well!

Cutting is humanity’s contribution to the beauty of gemstones. While round and other standard shapes have long dominated the market, fancy gemstone cuts offer a wide range of options. You can click on the images of the various cuttings to view the entire collection. But most importantly, you should know that the beauty of each shape is a matter of personal preference.

3. Select A Metal

Choosing the right metal is important to make a ring last, and Tap Diamond lists the usual choices of 10K as well as 14K and 18K gold on every product page, but in addition, we also make rings in , platinum, and 925 silver gold plated. If gold plated on silver, the gold color will fade over time during daily wear. Solid gold rings are a traditional and durable choice, while platinum is perfect choice for those who prefer white metals.

4. Select Settings

Stones falling out of the rings is something we never want to happen, and choosing the right settings for different center stone shapes can greatly reduce the occurrence of such incidents. The round prong setting is our most popular choice because it provides stability without obscuring too much of the stone. As for the petite claw prong, it is a combination of round prongs and claw prongs and can be considered an upgrade. It protects the center stone of the cabochon better than round prongs while not covering as much as claw prongs. If you would like to choose princess cut, shield cut, marquise cut, etc. as the center stone, the cornered prong maintains the sharp look while protecting the corners of the stone.

In addition to the shape of the prongs, increasing the number of prongs and changing the position can make a difference. We have listed a few common options in the picture for your reference.
